Proposition 8 backers are now out of legal challenges.

The hell you say. As the great Senator Blutarsky once said “Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?”

Well, no. No peaceful resting for Prop 8. May it live in infamy as a shameful example of trying to legislate the rights of a minority.

One of the positive developments in US politics in recent years is that votes relating to LGBT rights are (finally) starting to go the right way.

This makes haters like Bryan Fischer very sad, which pleases me greatly.

Prop 8 joins Prop 187 and Prop 14 as reminders of the willingness of right-wing Californians to use the ballot box to unconstitutionally enact discrimination against other people as law. I hope that in the future Prop 8 will be as much of an embarrassment to this state’s history as the others are.

It is abhorrent that the civil rights of certain segments of society are put on the ballot for everyone else to vote on. When have marriage rights, for example, of white christian men ever been put to a vote?

You are correct. May Prop 8, and all ballot measures like it (I’m looking at you Measure 9) burn in hell.
